Gargano national park

Gargano National Park is a protected natural area located in the north-eastern part of Puglia and covers 118.144 hectares. This is one of the largest protected areas in Italy and includes Mountain Community of Gargano, Tremiti islands (marine reserve) and the Umbra Forest.

The forestry project develops in two areas, the first located in the municipality of Apricena, the second in “Coppe di Monte Castello” area, in the south-west of the Gargano promontory within the Gargano National Park.

The goal of the project was to safeguard the environment and contribute to the protection of biodiversity, but also to spread, among the youngest, a real knowledge of the local environment, to understand the importance and promote respect and care.
